Venturi’s Table Reports Increase In Bookings as Companies Seek to Reassure Anxious Staff and Boost Morale
Venturi’s Table Corporate Cookery Centre, which uses cookery as up-lifting therapy for hardworking professionals, has experienced a marked increase in bookings during September and October as companies use the centre for ‘teamboosting.’ Many of the bookings taken throughout this period were also for staff Christmas parties, bucking the trend seen amongst some businesses which have cancelled festive celebrations this year. The centre reported a 67% year on year increase in bookings taken throughout September and October with the uplift especially pronounced at the end of the later, which saw bookings up almost 72%. Increased demand for the centre’s comforting experiences, which involve businesspeople creating a gourmet meal together in homely kitchens, suggest that despite tough economic times, companies are investing in keeping staff morale high.
In the last two months, Venturi’s Table in London’s Wandsworth Town, has been inundated with companies looking to use its down-to-earth cookery experiences to help lift employee spirits and communicate a message of reassurance. Businesses booking events throughout September and October have ranged from SMEs to big, global business brands with demand coming from a variety of business sectors. In addition, despite a number of companies reportedly cancelling Christmas parties this year, strong December bookings at Venturi’s Table have shown that for some organisations it will be ‘business as usual’ in terms of their annual treat for staff.
Vision Capital, a London-based investment firm booked a Venturi’s Table gourmet cookery experience for staff in September. Xxx of Vision Capital commented; “Staff are one of our best assets and must be kept buoyed-up in order to perform well and feel confident about our business. It is short-sighted of businesses to cut opportunities to treat staff during these challenging times. There is a general feeling of insecurity, regardless of whether you work for an organisation riding out the economic storm or not and this is the time they need encouragement most.”
IBIS Asset Management, a London-based financial services firm, decided to keep their Christmas party for staff this year, booking it at Venturi’s Table. xxx from IBIS commented; “Yearly rewarding staff with a Christmas party is important for us and this year it is a non-negotiable. It is important that businesses carry on with as much a sense of normality as possible to inspire and maintain confidence. There is also a need for pragmatism when it comes to reducing outgoings. Caring for staff is not really something which can be cut as it is essential to long-term stability.”
